Back to Work

Went back to work today. well one more day for the weekend. i love really short weeks. still might do some work from home. so i'm not screwed after the holidays are over.

well...i realized when maria called on christmas....that it was the first christmas since she left that she wasn't here. happy that she's in australia, cuz she's living life like she wants to. sad that she's on the other side of the world. and all we have to keep in touch is the occasional phone call and blogs.

had a board game party on sunday. it was cool....although trivial pursuit takes way too long. but it was cool to just hang out for a change.

been watching the news about the tsunami. i look at stuff like that and it reminds me that i can't take my life for granted. i have NO reason to complain about anything. there are definitely things in the world that are going on. so you shouldn't think that all life revolves around you. it doesn't.

2 more weeks

2 more weeks till christmas.

been a pretty interesting week. finished all of our christmas shopping. especially cool, since we started last week.

have one more gift to buy...a computer for my dad. he won't be seeing this...so it's not spoiling it for him.

anyways...got my first round of the fantasy football playoffs this weekend. going against my boy leonard....which sucks...he's a football guru...but my team has the possibility to beat him. we'll see. fantasy basketball is also keeping me busy.

weird how the holidays always make you think about all of your loved ones. i will be spending time with my family. looking forward to this holiday because it will be my first holiday married to sheila. been a great 7 months....will be a great 8 months on christmas eve.

also be the first holiday season without maria. that will really suck. that's another great thing about the holidays is her coming home.

starting to love the holidays alot more. decorations. spirits. just all around good thoughts. also realized that i love giving presents more than receiving them. call me a holiday sentimentalist.

one goal i have for the holidays. to reflect and let everybody know how i feel for them.
i also have a new years resolution that i'm going to work hard on. i plan to lift weights and just work out more. i now weigh 260 pounds. want to at least get more muscle so it looks better. just let myself gain too much weight.

talk to you guys later.

Malice at the Palace?

I'm just so tired of all of this press about the riot at the pistons vs. pacers game almost a month ago.

NBA analysts, who i used to like hearing, are now saying that detroit is just a bad city.
what pisses me off is that Detroit will never get the respect that the city deserves. When the pistons won the championship, everybody still kept choosing LA.

I know Detroit isn't the flashiest city, and it's not the best place in the world. But instead of really experiencing it, the city gets bashed. Detroit is home. and i'll say that the most endearing part of the city is the detroiters love for their home.

Instead of blaming a stupid ass Artest for having no character and running into the stands because of a cup thrown at him. They blame the fans. Look..a player runs into the stands and tries to beat up a player....he's fair game.

Do I think the fans are at fault? yes. they helped drag it out.

Do I think the players are at fault? of course, their reactions started it.

Do I think Artest should've been suspended for the whole season? yes, he started the whole thing with his reaction.

I just hate the fact that our D.A. is now wasting tax dollars to prosecute for an overblown assault. Just stupid.

I'm still a Pistons fan...always will be.

but more importantly.

I'm a fan of Detroit.

Christmas Time

This is our first Christmas being married. All I have to say is...preparing for it has been real fun.

First, we got alot of our shopping done. got all of the kid's presents....so we pretty much just need to get our parents, and some other presents.

Second, Christmas Lights. At first i thought it would be a pain to put them up. but when they're up...they're so worth it. I am definitely going to get more decorations for next year.

Third, our tree. Definitely our tree. has some action figures...and alot of superhero ornaments. plus some other traditional types. but i love looking at our tree. tons of different things in there.

Fourth, just the holidays in general. I love giving presents. I don't have wish lists...let alone do i tell people what i want them to get me. I always just leave it alone, because the people that get me anything...know me well enough to get me anything. I'm not picky. hell...i'm just happy and thankful to get anything...even if it's a note.

Ok, I lied...only thing i really want...is a PSP. but that's some time before it's released here.

I am surprised at how the new PS2's have sold out. nobody has them anymore. oh well. i'll have to get somebody something else then.

Well...I hope your holidays are coming together good too.
I always remind myself that life can always be worse...and that there are people who love me and think of me. that's worth more than any presents. well...EXCEPT THE PSP.

Houston?

What's up with the Houston Rockets? they have a good center like yao, who is still learning how to use the post...but has better moves than most big men smaller than him. And a great player like MacGrady...and they still don't know how to pass the ball.

Why don't teams just throw the ball down to Yao? Set up some other plays, get Yao to get the ball to the open man. Then you got yourself a good offensive opportunity. Nope...instead they have way too many guys watching.

State played Duke last night, was a very good game. But Duke relies too much on that 3 point shot. Although Redick shoots cold blooded.

I thought Michigan would've been a tighter game against Georgia Tech. But Tech is real good. that game really surprised me.

2 more days till the weekend. 2 more days till HALO 2 FILLS UP MY WEEKEND TIME SLOT AGAIN.
