Yes...Fantasy Football is Back.
Tonight we had our draft of my first league (ESPN).
Which also means, that beginning tonight I start my quest for a 3-peat in this league.

I have another draft on August 24th (CBS Sportsline), which I am defending my championship in that league, also.
Then the autodraft for the league with Riss (Yahoo).

But my ESPN league is different than most leagues, because we deal with Individual Defensive players and we give credit for return yards. This is who I ended up drafting.

But I am hooked on a show that's on G4 if you're lucky to get it.
It is Ninja Warrior.
It is pretty much an obstacle course stretched out through many stages.
Where you have to beat 4 different levels...with each level getting progressively harder.
I end up watching this show every time it's on TV.

Well...went to Toronto over the weekend for my cousin's 40th birthday.
Put this on my schedule for a few weeks, especially when I found out this was an 80's party.

So....the original plan was to borrow a Member's Only jacket from my co-worker.
Then I put it on with my aviator glasses...and it looked ok.
Then I decided to go as an 80's basketball player...so we bought girls x-tra large shorts...and I wore my retro Houston Rockets Jersey.

But it still didn't feel right.
So we went to Value Village in Scarborough...and we found it.
The Yellow Mesh Shirt. Then we bought a sweatshirt to go over it and cut it up.

All props goes to my sister's bf Reiner...as he helped get the outfit together...and was a great partner in crime to pose for all of the cameras.

Well...after all was said and done...about 30 people dressed up in 80's outfits out of the 100 plus that was there. I loved our outfits, and loved them more when I saw that we were some of the few that followed the theme.

What do you guys think? BTW...I will play Guitar Hero 80's in this outfit.

Softball...Not for Wusses

A few weeks ago, my sisters boyfriend kept asking if I want to play softball. I said no, because I haven't played any sport on a diamond in a long time.
Well, after going to one of his practices, I decided...why not....the guys on the team are friends and are cool to hang out with.
Well Fast Forward to 2 weeks later....it's alot tougher than I originally thought. My arm has been hurting the last couple of days trying to make the throw from 3rd to First.
Now...those that know me, know that I am all about basketball, football, and volleyball (which I plan to get back into). After playing basketball for 6 hours, my body does hurt all over.
I didn't expect the same soreness from playing softball.

I just have to say...softball is no joke. well...fielding isn't a joke...but hitting a slo pitched ball is pretty damn easy. Found out we'll be the only ALL asian team in the league, so that should be interesting.

anyways....you know things have gotten out of hand with it...the minute you hear that I slid to get to base.

Another weekend.
I took Sheils to watch Transformers.
Good movie. Really cool to watch. Still have my little beefs with it.
But at least watching it a 2nd time, some things make more sense to me.

Also became a softball guy. Decided to join my sister's boyfriends softball team. Was telling Maria...if I get to the point of sliding into a base...i've gone to the point of no return.
but looks like i'll be drinking some beers after every game. or slurpees.

Cooler news....I will be a MAID OF HONOR. or...really a Man of Honor. One of my best friends, Kristina, is getting married next year. So she asked me to be her Maid (Man) of Honor. of course i said sure. How many guys can say they were a Maid (Man) of Honor.
So now I just have to plan the bridal shower (Female Strip Club) and bachelorette party (Transgender Strip Club)

TRANSFORMERS...MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE!!!!

Saw transformers the movie today.

good movie to watch in the theaters...but far from being the perfect Transformers movie.

Great to hear the original Prime's voice. Megatron's voice (Hugo Weaving) was also good.
However, way too much focus on the human characters, especially a lot of characters that had no point or were annoying (i.e. Hackers, Secretary of Defense, and Sector 7).

Camera's were too erratic, especially during the fight sequences.
Movie was 2 h 23 min...about 30 minutes longer than it needed to be.

Action was still pretty good though...and definitely got it ready for a sequel. Just great to see Transformers on the big screen.

Megan Fox is god damn hot (Although she's engaged to Brian Austin Green). I liked Shia LeBeouf as the lead. Army guys worked well too.
Wish the transformers had more of a look similar to the cartoons, but it still worked. That's just me being particular.
Really cool to see a lot of Detroit in the movie...the last fight sequences were filmed in Downtown Detroit. As well as the Train Depot.

Afterwards the bro-in-law and I went on a Transformer toy hunt...only to end up buying one Transformer.

Was very disappointed that Starscream didn't say...YES ALMIGHTY MEGATRON.

I remember a couple of years ago when I was renting a porno DVD.
I saw this girl on the cover and saw the title Cinderella.
I thought, cool...she looks hot. I have never seen her before.
Worth checking out.
Then I get home.
Pop the DVD in...and the title pops up.
It's not Cinderella, it's GENDERELLA
So to my confusion, i'm just sitting there shocked and pissed.
Then the first scene comes along...yes....A CHICK WITH A DICK.
I kept thinking....but she has a nice rack.....but with a dick.
Well...after fast forwarding through the movie (out of curiosity), I returned it.

It was officially the only time i've ever been embarrassed renting porn.

Silver Surfer=F$#$ING AMAZING!!!!!

Skillet and I watched FF:Rise of the Silver Surfer this weekend.
Watch this movie. You will not be disappointed. He is one of the coolest looking characters on screen. Great action sequences, and far superior than the first movie (although the first movie was just not that good). Jessica Alba was actually more than just a hot looking character.

Sheils and I also did Race for the Cure this past weekend. It was really cool. Thanks for those that donated money. 5 K is alot longer than I thought it would be. But I would definitely do this again.

Fantasy Football draft is 2 months away...and we're already getting ready.
Have to defend my back to back championship and my rookie league win this year.
Got the 12th pick in the draft of my main league.
GOD DAMN YOU GOTTA LOVE FOOTBALL.

Cavs vs. Spurs sucks so far. Spurs are already boring, but the CAVS playing like ass...well..makes me more mad that the Pistons couldn't beat them. If I played a drinking game and took a shot of vodka for every time they show Eva Longoria in the stands, whenever Tony Parker scores...I would be drunk by the 5 minute mark in the first quarter.

Summer is here....meaning...I get to practice making my own BBQ sauce. This year, i'm going to use liquor in the sauce and marinades and see how my ribs turn out.

Sopranos finale: Never really watched the show consistently. But the ending was definitely one that got you thinking. Could either be genius or bullshit. I personally think it's in between.

Arrested Development: Been watching this show on reruns through G4TV. This show is one of the damn funniest shows i've ever seen. Check it out if you can find it.

Silver Surfer and Transformers better kick ass. Still pissed about Spiderman 3.

Going to buy an Optimus Prime voice changing helmet. I'm a huge transformers fan and still collect the toys. Plus it'll be hot when I get to say "WAKE UP SUGARTITS" in Optimus Prime's voice.

Even though I'm afraid of rats, I really want to see Ratatouille.

Been almost 2 weeks, and i'm still depressed from the Pistons loss.

What I feel the Pistons should do in the Offseason

I'm a huge Pistons fan.
But because of this years Eastern Conference Finals Debacle (5 conference finals in a row means nothing if they don't win it.)
I feel they should do at least one of the following things:

1.) Trade Rasheed Wallace and your 15th pick: He's a great player when he wants to be. Problem is, he's not consistent and keeps blowing up at the refs trying to get calls. GET OVER IT. If you can move up to the 3rd pick...grab Horford or Yi Jianlian.
2.) Pick through the free agent market: I dont know who's out there exactly, but you need a hardnose scorer and a defensive big man. Hate to say this, but if Ben Wallace were still on the Pistons, the inside block would've been defended. but he's not, it wasn't defended and Cleveland is getting all of our press.
3.) Draft a Point Guard, a Scorer, or Big Man: The Pistons have 2 picks in the first round (15 and 27). Draft Acie Law from Texas A & M, who's a good point guard. With the 27th, you can get a quality big man. Or vice versa, this draft is quite deep with all of the freshman that came out.
4.) Sign Chauncey: I think he's a solid point guard, and when his heads in the game, he's one of the best PG's in the league. Problem is, he sleeps through some games. I don't buy that the Cavs guards gave him problems. He made bad decisions and got greedy. But he's a keeper. Although I feel he's not worth max salary, he will get paid that much.
5.) If they can't sign Chauncey, go for Rashard Lewis. Seattle is going to let him go because they're going to get Durant. So get a bonafide scorer who can play. Tayshaun is good when he's aggressive, problem is...he's not always aggressive. And he's an overrated 1 on 1 defender. He's a better help defender than a 1 on 1 defender.
6.) Build the team towards Flip Saunders style. Coaches can coach teams when everybody buys into their system. Pistons are still wishing they had Larry Brown.

Pistons Lose

Well, the Pistons lost.
The CAVS played harder and wanted it more. Pistons didn't play aggressive enough, especially on defense. We can say that the ref's didn't make the calls toward the Pistons, but after watching the last couple of games...they did deserve to lose the Conference Finals.

Now the questions of the offseason:
1.) Will they re-sign Chauncey?
2.) Will they trade to get some other players, I would trade Sheed while he still has some value.
3.) Who will Dumars draft with 2 first round picks?
4.) Who will re-sign with the Pistons or sign from free agency?

I like LeBron, he's one of our favorite players. Only time I hate him is when he's against the Pistons. But I hate the Spurs (except Duncan). So we'll pretty much be pushing for the CAVS to win the Championship.

Announcers Suck!!!!

So, i'm watching the PISTONS v. Cavaliers Playoff Series.
And what do the refs talk about. They don't talk about how the Pistons play...no...THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE.
They talk about....LEBRON and nothing else.
Yes, he's a great player...but to keep talking about him and compare him to Jordan is pure bullshit. Just annoyed that the Pistons still get no respect and that the announcers only talk about the "Chosen One"
It also doesn't help that Chauncey is playing like shit.

Series is currently 2-1. When the Pistons win...they're going to talk about how LeBron didn't win. Not how the Pistons win.

Well. Finales of all shows have come and gone.

Heroes: Ok finale. Episodes built it up. Just came and went really. But still interesting to see how it's going to go next season. Climax was very lackluster...could've been more. 7.5/10
Greys Anatomy: Also ok. Whole season was better. Ending really had no questions. Not that great. Very so so finale. 6/10
Lost: Season was very lackluster. A couple of wasted episodes. Last couple of episodes built up the finale. Finale was amazing. Some questions were answered. More questions were raised. One of the best season finales ever. Especially to a crappy season. 10/10

Alright, normally I respond to comments on my comment section.
But I feel I have to explain why the hell I was disappointed with certain movies.

Superman Returns: Yes Jeff, the action was real cool. Routh is Superman. Spacey was amazing. However, here were my problems. Bosworth sucked as Lois Lane. They should've started from scratch, like Batman Begins, instead of continuing from Superman 2. oh...and the worst part of all.....THEY GAVE HIM A FUCKING KID. THEY GAVE SUPERMAN A FUCKING SON....that alone was pure bullshit. oh...and it's ended with superman being a DEADBEAT DAD. It also doesn't help when you're intimidated by a big Half Filipino guy wearing a Superman t-shirt...I was pressured to saying it was amazing. hahahahaha.

Spiderman 3: 3 Villains...not needed, would've been fine with just Goblin and Sandman. Actually would've been better with Lizard. I always thought Venom was overrated. but if they were going to do a whole black suit-Venom movie...they should've had a whole movie dedicated to it. At least we agree that Saturday Night Spidey was shit. The worst of the 3 Spiderman movies.

Spiderman 2: Amazing movie. hands down. Great Action. Took a villain like Doc Ock, who's normally a joke and made him really villainous. yes...the losing of powers was weak. but all in all...great movie. plus did a real good job of the whole conflicted villain. Either way...I am not crazy about Kirsten Dunst.

Hopefully the Fantastic Four: Silver Surfer movie turns out to be good, because that is one sweet ass character.

Spiderman 3=WTF!!!!!

The wife and I caught Spiderman 3 tonight. After all of the waiting, I just have to say that we were extremely disappointed.
Too many villains, parts of the story that were just flat out comical and pointless.
Some lines that did not fit the way the characters were.
They could've done without either Sandman or Venom. Actually, they could've had a whole movie dedicated to the Black Suit and Venom.

oh well. Hopefully Fantastic Four 2 is sweet.

So...first off...HEROES IS THE BEST SHOW ON TV...PERIOD.

Now....a gripe.
Went to the gym on Saturday morning. Minding my business. Lifting weights. nothing out of the ordinary. Until this one girl kept past my machines. Here's the problem. I thought she farted at first....so I thought nothing of it.
Till she passed again...and she still smelled like ass. It wasn't her farting...IT WAS HER FUCKING B.O. Are you serious? I just wanted to throw a weight plate at her so she wouldn't fucking kill me with that odor. Best description. she smelled like spoiled rice, with a hint of hot feet, oh...and bleu cheese. NO LIE.

Wish I took a shit right there to make it smell better.

Happy 3 Year Wedding Anniversary (12 years together)

6,307,200 minutes. That's how long we've been together.
Here is a timeline of us:
May, 1991: 14 years old: First time I ever saw Sheila Ponti. After winning our pee wee championship, the girls played their first game. I just remember seeing this tall filipino girl always throwing other girls on the floor.
Fast Forward to 4 years later.
18 years old: Freshman year college. January 95. I remember going to my english 301 class and seeing that same tough girl walking down the stairs, while I was walking up. I would occasionally say hi and smile.
Mid February 95: Sheila calls me to ask about an English assignment. We talk for a couple of hours.
April 24, 1995: Sheils and I turn in an English assignment, first time we held hands. I have never let go since.
Fast Forward to August 2000: We take a 3 week trip to California (LA and San Fran). Sheils leaves after 2.5 weeks. Bennie comes in to San Fran for a couple of days. First time I mention that I want to marry Sheils. noticed it when standing on Twin Peaks in SF. (One of the best views ever).
Fast Forward to Sep 2001: Bennie and I during one of our dinner outings find the ring and start planning the engagement.
December 9, 2001: Pistons vs. Rockets. Me, Sheils, Maria, and Rhands-Hooper (Pistons mascot) gives Sheila a ball in the beginning of the 3rd quarter. It says "you are everything to me, will you marry me" She says yes.
Fast Forward to April 24, 2004: Wedding day. Celebrate with 535 of our closest family and friends. Her walking down the aisle is still one of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen. And to be married on the exact date we started dating makes this day more special.

12 Years Ago my life changed. I met the person who would show me what it means to love, to be happy. I have spent 40% of my life with you, but gave 100% of my heart. After all of these years, I still look forward to your smile, your touch, your voice, your hug, your kiss. I know I never have to worry as long as i'm with you. -Men at the gym do not mind showing their junk.
-Rubber bands around your socks keeps your socks in pairs when doing laundry.
-Drinking Green Tea Frappucinos makes your shit green, same goes for Superman ice cream and blue kool aid
-Katherine McPhee is hotter than when she won American Idol.
-Al Sharpton is an idiot.
-Everything tastes good with gravy.
-Dunkin Donuts and Baskin Robbins ice creams are combined here...but why do they not have a hot fudge sundae on a donut?
-I look like my wife so much that our parents can't tell our baby pictures apart.
-TimTams are the best cookies I have ever had.
-White Castles are the best food after drinking.
-A chinese restaurant is not a good one unless there are alot of chinese people eating there.
-A good chinese restaurant has to serve dim sum (yam cha for you australians)
-A great pizza place has alot of italians eating in there.
-But why does every italian sound like they're from the Sopranos.
-HEROES is the best show on tv...period.
-Jane Seymour (Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman) is frickin hot.
-Smurfs were way better than any cartoon on right now.

Is Sheila Pregnant?

Something has become a huge pet peeve of mine recently.

Everytime we run into someone we know, either at a restaurant or a party. They all ask the same question. Is Sheila Pregnant? or...they just flat out rub her belly.
It amazes me that people have the nerve to ask that question, as if it wouldn't come out in conversation.
But it's just an annoying question. So i've come up with responses so that people might not want to hear about it.

First: I responded with We're practicing and we had 2 scrimmages last night. But that stopped when my mom started using it.
Second: Became more blunt and answering with...yeah...we're doing it. Did it alot last night. that way people don't want to ask and feel awkward to ask.
Third: can't...my stuff hurts. hahahahahahah. then nobody wants to hear anything after that.

Sheila, bless her, hears it way more than I do. People even go to the point of rubbing her belly, then looking up and going...Anything yet?

Don't people get that when we're expecting, we will definitely tell people.

It was a hard 4o days. literally.
But I think I will attempt this lenten promise again in the future, but with something else on top of it, like no videogames too. something like that.
Well...nothing much going on in the past few weeks. Work has been kicking my ass. Budget season is in full effect, and it looks like it will be a hellish 2 weeks.

But it is what it is.

Sheila has been drinking coffee, she made sure I was awake when she had her first cup this mroning.
I will be taking her out a little later to get her a Venti Vanilla Latte.

Ok...girls wouldn't know this. Maybe you would.
But this morning...I wake up from deep slumber.
Go to the toilet for my morning pee.
Well....I couldn't do the normal aim and go.
Had to go with the full body tilt. Why?....I HAD A HARD ON!!!!!
It was tough, but i was able to finish. However..when touching the top of the shaft...you then have to force the pee out.
What's harder than HARD ON PEE....HARD ON SHIT. Cuz then you have your junk touching the bottom of the seat. ARRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!
Then afterward...you end up having more pee come out. DAMN IT!!!

Well...weekend is over.
Daylight Savings time hit early. So we lose an hour. It bites, but what can you do.
Had to work on Saturday for the first time in 3 years. Ended up being a full day. All good I guess. Part of the job.

Today, more of a chill day.

Sheils and I watched 300. The few people that actually read this blog. It is definitely worth it. WATCH THIS MOVIE IN THE THEATRE!!!!!

I haven't read the Frank Miller Graphic Novel, but I do now. The cinematic style and the action, as well as the acting was just fricking amazing. Wouldn't mind watching it again.

But this is definitely the first must see movie of the year. HANDS DOWN!!!!

Ok. So we saw Rent for the 7th time for me and 8th time for Sheils (she saw it twice last year). I thought that this would be my last time (to save money). But I have to admit, I love this show. It's a different experience everytime.
Plus it goes by so fast, it helps that we know every song word for word too.
So anyways, great show again. What was really cool was the guy who played Roger was British, so he had the accent. I liked it. That and the guy who played Angel was fucking ripped.

That was the buffest (sp.) cross dresser i've ever seen...and i've seen some big ones in San Francisco.

Anyways. I am not going to break tradition. I will continue to watch RENT whenever it comes in. Still need to see it in New York.

Well...another weekend over.

Watched the kids again. Which is what I do when my parents go out of town. But it's all good, barely get to see them...so i'm glad that they like when I watch them. Plus they're fun to play with.
Had an Xbox (Gears)/Poker party last night. cool seeing people I haven't seen since before the holidays. Plus got to meet some others, but all in all cool night.
Today...nothing much. Chilled. Hung out with J Bo (one of my non biological little brothers). Pretty much cool end to a pretty busy weekend.

1st Season: Amazing, so many questions. Kept the viewer wanting more and asking more.
2nd Season: Introduced "the others" and "the tailies", Went too much into them. Answered no questions, brought up new ones. Kinda dragged
3rd Season: Answered nothing. Wasted too many episodes with the others. Took a 12 week break, to come back and be more boring and shitty.

Sorry...but this show is becoming shit. Heroes is easily becoming one of the 2 best shows on TV.
Grey's Anatomy is the other one, I feel like a chick when I say that.

This weekend was quite a busy one for Ice Cold Michigan.

Friday, Sheils went to the Josh Groban concert. Me...I was sick and stayed home.

Saturday, watched Maya and Chinsen. I love those kids so much. But trips me out that Maya is 4 years old and 54 lbs. Yes...54 lbs. But she's a cutie..and a smart one.

Sunday, Sheils and I went to our first Pistons game of the year. Usually, we try to go to a Houston game (engagement tradition), a cleveland game, and a random game. Well...for her birthday got her tickets to watch the Chicago game for Ben Wallace's homecoming. Pistons won on a putback by C. Webb with 2.2 seconds left. Awesome game. Ben was booed and cheered at the beginning. Then booed everytime he touched the ball. Webber owned him though. Sheed sucked. GREAT GAME!!! Going to watch LeBron play his first game here this season next week.

Currently watching the Oscars. It's messed up that the acceptance speeches are cut off. But what's really messed up is that they drag on the opening and introductions of the awards forever. WHY THE HELL AM I WATCHING IT?
I'm going to play Xbox now.

oh...still not watching bomba. Getting used to it. Instead, getting addicted to youtube.

Ok, My god daughter's 1st birthday was yesterday.

Why do people always seem to have parties at a buffet. What is it about a buffet that makes people say..."You know what...we're going to have a birthday party here?"

Anyways...got to see some friends that I haven't seen since I was thinner (yes...I was) back in 2000.

I think one of my favorite things is when you reconnect with people and realize that they're still the same and never changed.

Brox, we got the Arnott's Originals. They taste very close to the tim tams, just not as sweet as a Tim Tam. But it's cheaper to buy tim tams off of Everything Australian.com.

All Star Weekend

There are a couple of sporting events I love throughout the year that I always make time for.

NCAA tournament
NBA All Star Weekend.

Well...caught the NBA all star weekend last night. Here's a recap.
Detroit won the shooting stars competition (yawn)
Wade won the skills competiton (double yawn)
Kapono won the 3 point competition (SWEET...I really did choose him before the thing started..ask Sheils)
Gerald Green won the slam dunk contest with a flying windmill over a stand. It was a great dunk, but not a 50 like the judges gave him. Dwight Howard got screwed with his Alleyoop...sticker near top of the backboard dunk. I thought that was the best dunk all night. Oh...and Nate Robinson's got some crazy hops...but he's shit and overrated.

So...pretty much...the best thing about the night was eating White Castles with Jay and Laurie and watching Saw III right after.

Hopefully the All Star Game tonight, makes up for a shitty All Star Saturday.

Decided to start my Diet again. I mean it this time. gained 10 lbs...and haven't lost anything since we got back from Sydney.
But had to celebrate my last night before diet with a gorge.
Went to Dave n Busters last night, had a plate of Cajun Shrimp Alfredo and a tall cookie sundae in a mug. So good.
Went for Jay's birthday, so it was cool to see people we haven't seen in a long time.

Our family friend, Uncle George passed away this morning.

I just remember when I was a kid, and I first saw him. I got scared, so I ran and hid in a closet. Took a long time for me to come out. But he told me...if I was a monster and I were going to eat you...I would've eaten you in that closet.

Since then he's always been a constant. Always had love for the guy, and loved seeing him in the few times we have seen him.

Well..he's in a better place now with no pain and looking down and seeing how much he's loved.

Fondue Night

Last night, did fondue for the first time at the Melting Pot with Chris and Lili.

Expensive, but we were super full. So it was definitely worth it.

It was just awesome hanging out with Chris and Lili, just reminded us of how often we don't see each other, but when we do it's like we just saw each other yesterday. Reminisced about Australia and checked out pics of their trip. They seemed to have an amazing trip, we were definitely jealous. Gives us a reason to go back to Australia.

Ate TimTams (and dipped them) and just chatted it up. Awesome time. Even though Chris spat up after dinner mints on me (found more on my shirt when I got home bro...hahahahhahaha).

Also made us miss Australia and our trip. Been only 3 weeks removed from when we got back, but we really miss it still. Plus having Brox and Lili there made the trip alot more fun.

Read Maria's blog about Australia Day. We miss you too and definitely wish we were there for Australia day. Sounded like it was an awesome time.

ok...first thing...going back to work sucks major ass.

Returned home

Well.
Returned home a couple of days ago...January 4th to be precise.
Great trip, easily one of the best ever.

Celebrated Maria's 30th birthday with their friends and family.
Then Maria and Rhands got us a ticket to climb the Sydney Harbour bridge the night before we left. One of the best presents we ever received. Helped a ton that it was also one of the coolest experiences we had this year.

Celebrated my mom's 60th birthday tonight. Just had dinner with the fams. worked out pretty well. Played with my sister's Wii. cool system, but not sure if it's for me. but who knows.

After receiving all of our holiday presents...I have to vent a little bit. Why is it that after putting thought into everybody's gifts, we get crap back. Don't get me wrong...most of the presents we got were cool (lion's game, Bridge Climb, Optimus Prime). But there were some really crappy gifts that we got. as if there was no thought involved. sheils and i are really easy to shop for. our interests are really easy...WE HAD AMAZON.COM WISHLISTS FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. oh well. i'll just say that i'm glad i don't define this holiday by a set of presents...otherwise it would've been awful.

2007 will be just as great if not better.

Well....the wedding was beautiful and fun. Definitely worth the trip.

New years was real fun, had a great view of the harbour from a friends office. Fireworks were really impressive. Headed over to the Bar right after where Maria's roomie Matt was DJ ing. The guy who DJ'ed after Matt bit...but we made the most of it. Just have to say that Sydney is awesome around New Years, the vibe around the city at the very late hours...just is amazing.

Still have a couple more days to go. But this has already been one of the best trips we've ever taken. From the people we've met, to the stuff that we've done. Just been worth it. Would love to make a trip out every year for New Years.

Well...Sheils and I are here in Sydney at Maria's apartment.

All I have to say is that Sydney is awesome. Got here Christmas morning...and when walking around the city...you wouldn't have known that it was christmas. Everybody was walking and hanging out.
Glad we made the trip. Just awesome seeing some sights that you've seen on TV, up close...but alot of you know the feeling already.

Maria's friends are real cool and very inviting. I can see why she loves it here.

It bites, because Sheila is fighting a bad cough. She thinks it's Bronchitis. So she's been a trooper.

I won in both of my fantasy football leagues. Came from 8th place to take the title in one league...and defeated the strongest team in the other league. So that makes me a back to back winner in one...and a rookie who took the title in the other.

Maria and Rhands are getting married in a couple of days. Definitely going to be alot of fun.

well...other than that...just trying to get my body adjusted to the time. Still having trouble...but I don't think it would take too long for that.

Pretty much I decided that if I by chance happen to get my hands on one. it's mine. but if not. no big deal.

Fantasy football...my team is underachieving. got a 3-6 record...but can still make the playoffs...so it's not too bad. thank god i'm in the awful division.

played gears of war. have to admit it's amazing. actually makes me want to get a 360.

Well.
9/21: Turned 30
9/28: Went to Chicago for the weekend with Sheils. Watched Wicked...god I love that musical.
Also went to the Chicago Art Institute....we spent about 5 hours there, but it amazed me to see works of art that I studied in high school. More specifically the work of El Greco...never thought i'd ever see them. Literally floored me when I saw the painting of St. Martin and the Beggar.

PS3 comes out in a month and a half. Still wondering if I should get that or the Wii. or neither and just wait awhile. Huge chance that i'm just going to wait awhile, especially with the Australia trip taking a chunk out of our pockets.

People are making a bigger deal out of it than I am.
To be honest...it's just a number.

Personally, I feel tons younger...hell...act tons younger...have the hobbies of a kid.
Hell...the big days for me coming up

November 17th: PS3 is released
November 19th: Sheila's Birthday
December 25th: Christmas in Sydney
December 29th: Maria's wedding
December 31st: First new years away from home (HELLS YEAH!!!!)...in Sydney. DOUBLE HELLS YEAH!!!

Those days mean more to me now than my birthday.

My niece turns 4 on Sunday. Still amazes me how fast she's growing. She's supposed to start school soon. That should be interesting. Amazing watching kids grow up and play.

Her birthday party is at Chuck E Cheese tomorrow. I'm going to beat as many kids in skee ball that I can. hahahahahahahah.

Labor Day

USA Basketball Bronze Metal

So team USA beat Argentina to win the Bronze.

I honestly think that's awesome. Especially because these guys do not usually play international rules. Plus at the last world championships, they got 6th place.
I admit, I was hoping for Gold.
But is Bronze a disappointment...Hell no. I'm glad they medaled.

What is the big deal about the media and most people saying that everything the US does has to be Number 1?
Just noticed that attitude more during the olympics and some people's reaction to the Bronze.

What does anybody else feel about the US always having to be the best at everything attitude?

So last weekend, my mom threw me a birthday party.
It was originally supposed to be my surprise party, but I found out.
Mainly because it was scheduled on the same day as my fantasy football draft.

Well...the draft got moved up a week. The surprise party became more of a party.

It was cool seeing some people I haven't seen in the longest time.

However, when you have a party at a club house...there wasn't really nothing much to do. We brought guitar hero and played that for a bit. Then peeps just came over to the house to hang out and sing karaoke.

Well..my real birthday's in a couple of weeks.

Chances are...we'll have a board game/just regular party at our house. who knows.

can't complain though...my mom went through a ton of trouble for me. have to admit...it's always nice to know people care for you. that's for sure.

A couple of days in review

Ok. had my fantasy football draft last saturday. for 24 rounds...it took a record 2 1/2 hours. Surprised all of us it went by that quick.

I like my team, probably 3rd or 4th strongest in the league depending who you ask.
Got the Cardinals QB's (WE do team QB's), Clinton Portis (injured, but whne he plays...he'll pay off), Warrick Dunn, Willie Parker, Chris Chambers, Joey Galloway. Defensively, strahan and urlacher are 2 standouts. Have some WR questions, but for the most part...I think it would pay off this season.

Taught my first finance class today. It was my idea to have a finance class for managers and directors at the hospital to learn about financial reports. Went well, was a little nervous at first. But that didn't last long. Never lifted my arms...wasn't going to when I knew that therew as a huge sweat stain there. Just nice to see an idea come to fruition.

Ryan, Guitar Hero is awesome. Love that game. I should start playing it again. Can't wait for number 2 to come out. Probably have a party here when 2 comes out.

Well...finally putting up another post...for the 1 of you that actually read this.

Anyways...nothing much has gone on.
Sheila got her masters...YAY...means we can save cash.
I got a promotion...YAY....doing the same work...just getting more pay and a new title.
Maria, Rhands, and Steve were in town around Memorial day weekend...real nice hanging out.
Hung out with Jeff and Sabrina...while they were here for 3 weeks. Just found out that Jeff is not being deployed....real happy about that.

Going to australia in december for Maria's wedding. Expensive...but it will be worth it when i find Nemo at P Sherman 14 wallaby way.

I READ BOOKS!!!!!...yup...for the first time in years..I read books. REad DaVinci Code, Angels and Demons, Fight Club, Jurassic Park, and Lost world.

Now it's august...not reading anymore. Tekken came out for the PSP....such a great game.

oh...got fantasy football draft this sunday. and I turn 30 in a month...sad thing is..I found out about my 30th surprise party...so now...it's just a 30th birthday party.

3 more months till the ps3...and still no pre-orders from any stores. WHAT THE HELL!!!!!

Sheils and I went to Boston this past weekend.
Was an impulse trip.

My best friend Kristina's boyfriend threw a surprise party for her. So pretty much a whole bunch of us came from different parts of the country to celebrate with her.

She was definitely surprised...I would be too if I saw my cousins from California also.

Plus got to hang with my godbrother Jason. Just had alot of fun hanging out and what not.

Although...don't you hate coming back from out of town leisure trips...like a quick escape to reality.

We've always known each other through our parents. But we didn't get close till we danced in a Circulo cotillion together.
When we became partners we started talking more.
Realized we had a connection. Funny thing was...we had a crush on each other at the same time. But never acted on it. Instead...we developed a better relationship.

But through the years, you have been one of the people responsible for getting me out of my shell. Helped me get through some real tough times.

You have become more than just a friend. Not like a sister either....more than that.

Alright. time to vent.

We started our budget process yesterday. So pretty much rare days off for the next 5 months. But here's the messed up thing. A very unqualified co-worker...accidentally sent out access to worksheets that would've exposed wage rates to departments.

But here's the complaint. If you're in the wrong...admit it. Don't try to argue about your mistake. I normally wouldn't call people stupid...but that action alone just covered all types of stupidity.

Decided this winter...going to experiment more with pasta, pizza, and soups.

GREAT couple of days

What a GREAT couple of days.

The holidays were great. Had fun with family and friends. Got things that I wanted, but got things that were unexpected. But most of all, I got to spend the time with my loved ones.

Yesterday, I won my Fantasy Football Super Bowl. So that's money and the trophy at my house for a year. 2 things made that possible, Brady doing alright and Bruschi getting injured.

Today, heard great news.

One of my best friends, Maria has gotten engaged in the Philippines to her boyfriend of 4 years, Rhandy. So happy for the both of them. Maria's a great girl, and couldn't have asked for a better guy than Rhandy for her. HEAPS OF HAPPINESS FROM US!!!!!

Been about 5 weeks since I started changing my eating and workout habits.

lost about 20 pounds so far. goal is to lose at least 37 more pounds. or at least gain more muscle. that's the real plan. so we'll see.

decided to play in a roseville parks and rec league. just a bunch of my friends who i grew up with. not too serious. Hell..our team name is "you win".

however, this is why I don't play organized ball anymore. we had a scrimmage. i was getting too frustrated....then jay jay reminded me that it was for fun. which made me relax alot. just have to remember that it's all in good fun. that gives me a chance to hang out with my boys...and play some ball.

now...the hard part is...trying to remember that.

holidays were good. hung out with family. had an xbox 360 party at my house. not impressed with the system. no games give me the wow factor like halo 1 or 2 did. definitely waiting for the ps3.

started christmas shopping yesterday. got alot of it done. helps that we ordered most of our gifts online. i love christmas...mainly giving gifts. i love seeing people's reactions.

one more week for fantasy football regular season..and playoffs start soon. i'm in the lead in my division. locked for the playoffs...just wanting to get to my league superbowl so i can be in the money. already won $50 in this league so far.

we'll see.

Mariucci fired

So...the Lions fired another coach.

I wasn't a fan of Mariucci. Definitely not a fan of the West Coast Offense. But...I'm with every other analyst. Millen should be the first person fired.

How do you draft 3 WR's in the last 3 years. Do nothing to bolster an O-Line full of holes. However, his drafting of Rogers and Harrington were the logical choices, because any other GM would've done the same thing in those drafts. But his drafting of Mike Williams is what really surprised me.

Plus the big headed bastard hired Morninwheg. He should've been fired for that alone. But the Fords hired their yes man. Still don't even understand why the guy was given an extension.

Oh well...here goes to another playoff drought.

hey for the couple of people that actually read my blog.

anyways...started my own eating plan. realized that i've gained some weight. so it's been 11 days since i've had no pop or sweets...and eating 4 small meals a day. so far it's good. that combined with my return to weightlifting...definitely feels nice...but we'll see how it is in a couple of months.

also joining a parks and rec league in roseville. should be fun. defnitely looking forward to just playing non serious ball.

tired of reruns...especially reruns from the early season of tv. like lost. been showing reruns the last couple of weeks. how shitty is that.

today we got the mace windu lightsaber...meaning that our lightsaber collection is complete. we now have all 4. just in time to celebrate the release of episode 3.

sheils and i are good. just had our 1 and 1/2 year anniversary. so far so good.

another thing...a show we're hooked on...check out the "FIRST 48", like a real life law and order. quite amazing. it's on A & E. check it out if you get the chance.

had a halloween birthday party for my nephew last saturday. i dressed up as ben wallace. complete with cornrows. yup...that's right. i'll show pics.

Well...had a birthday. September 21st.

My niece had a birthday...September 17th.

Went to Frankenmuth with my family for a weekend...relaxing.

Top of my division in Fantasy...but sustained a huge loss this week. go figure.

Other than that...nothing much.

Going to vent a little bit. how many excuses or reasons are there? I'm one of those people who appreciate the truth, whether it sucks to hear it or not. If you're lazy...just fucking say it. don't beat around the bush and say you're going to get to it. Don't waste my fucking time.

People bend over backwards for you...to take care of shit that you should do. What do you do....nothing. So why the fuck am I wasting my time doing shit for you.

What's up with the meatnormous sandwich from burger king. As if food wasn't killer enough.

Lost is the best show on TV...period. House is right behind it.

Return from Vegas

Returned from Vegas today.

Amazing Trip. Then again every trip with sheils is an amazing trip.

Did tons of walking. Tons of eating.
Favorite casinos definitely Venetian and Caesars.
Saw some friends there (Ray and Elaine Ascano, and Ryan Perez). Real cool we got to see them amidst all of the people there.

Amazing time over there.

Did little gambling. The few dollars we won back. We spent on food. That was real fun.
Saw Ka (cirque du soleil), AMAZING SHOW. if you go to Vegas. You have to watch this show. one of the best shows i've ever seen.

Madame Tussauds wax museum was also awesome. Had one of the scariest moments there. This wax figure leading to the horror section was dressed like a ticket taker. Well...afer walking past this figure. HE MOVES AND COMES UP TO US. SCARED THE HELL OUT OF ME.

Definitely want to go back.

Fantasy Football

Well,

had our fantasy football draft last night.

26 rounds. 3.5 hours. went by alot faster than expected.
It's a money league through espn.com. So we had alot of wheeling and dealing to move up in the draft. It's also a league where we draft defensive players and return yards do make a difference. and ray lewis can score as many points as a running back.

I personally made $20 and got 3 extra picks in the 4-6th rounds...all i gave up was a 3rd rounder and a 7th and 8th rounder.

Got some of the players I wanted.
Shawn Alexander
Tom Brady
and gambling on T.O. but I got andre johnson to pick up his slack. If you want to know my draft picks...leave a comment. I'll post them on another blog.

Sheils and I played ball a couple of hours ago. Great competitions, some of the best. Joey Diao was hitting everything, but we still won. I was playing down low most of the time. Worked out. My team won all but two games. Sheils had an awesome night as well. Hitting and driving to the hoop. Proud of my girl.

2 more weeks till vegas. we're psyched. got 4 days...so we got to do everything we can...and we will.

Friends...how many of us have them. (WHODINI!!!!)

We have a good number of friends. I'm not going to deny that.

Why is it that there are friends you haven't seen in awhile...but you still know your friendship is there.

Why is it that there are friends that you only hear from every now and then, but you still know they are there.

How can someone consider a best friend, when they haven't called in months. Especially when we're only a quick phone call away.

Not overseas. Not super long distance. Just no phone call.

I have heard every cry, complaint, everything. Sometimes I would like to hear just a Hello for a change.

Have I changed, probably. Married life does that to people.

I guess Married life does stuff to friendships too.

Can only call so much, can only leave so many messages before you get tired of no answers.

Nothing else to do but just do what I do.

Larry Brown is Gone

Once again, Larry Brown is gone as a coach.

Which really bites, he has done a great job with the Pistons in the 2 seasons that he coached here. Still wish we had Rick Carlisle, who could've been a coach for the Pistons forever.

Flip Saunders coming in should be nice. He's a good coach who is very defensive minded. He also got the short end of the deal at Minnesota with the old talent that they had.

Alright.

Not much has happened since I last wrote.

4th of July weekend came and went. Sheila played in the tournament, her team did pretty good considering they haven't started playing together until 2 weeks prior.

My cousin's team made it to the finals. They lost to Detroit. But still a good outing.

Spent July 3rd at my godbrother's house for our yearly tradition to play basketball and fireworks. It was cool.
We also had visitors from Arkansas. The Liggetts were over, which was cool that Jeff was able to get time off the base. More honored that they wanted to spend the holiday with us. Which was real cool, their son Braxton is so damn cute. Plus amazing at how much he walks and moves at only 1 year old. It was also nice with Jeff play ball with us. Although he was a tough ass guy to guard, my friends liked the fact that they didn't have to guard my wide ass. Plus it was real cool seeing Sabrina in the mother role. Still funny that we've become their friends through their cousins, and yet are closer to them than their cousins.

Got a grill. Going to practice how to cook ribs. Watching food network has really gotten me to want to make ribs. So I will be practicing with my own sauces and rubs.

My Fiscal Year end at work has been great. After a debacle last year...got through everything this year without a problem. Awesome feeling. So i'm pretty relaxed at work now for awhile....great feeling.

Sheils and I are going to Vegas in a month. Definitely can't wait. It's funny though...every time we see our friends and their kids...really makes us want to have our own. have to wait till Sheila is done with her Masters. Which she has really been kicking ass with. So proud of her.

Well, been a bit of time since I last posted a blog. So here it goes.

Peace out to Chris Lum, who I just read is going to Cali. Good luck over there, even though we see each other occasionally you will definitely be missed.

Sheila just accepted an invitation to play in the PBA invitational tournament at Southfield during the 4th of July weekend. So we're going to work on a few parts of her game, namely pump fakes and some interior passing.

Played ball again this past Sunday. I wish I had the resources to play ball indoors every day. I love the full court game. I get to work alot on my game, which I have become alot more comfortable with stepping out of the post and driving to the lane or stepping back for a shot. Plus Sheils and I get to play ball against each other.

I'm such a dork...bought the rice cooker that I've been looking for today. found it at costco of all places...set me back a bit. but i'm definitely looking forward to cooking rice in that thing.

Got a Dentist appointment on Friday. Nice that I get a half day at work. But haven't been to the Dentist in 4 years...go figure...i get insurance...and I don't use it. Anyways....worried that I might have a cavity or something. I'll keep it posted.

Batman begins started yesterday...going to watch it this weekend. Batman is definitely one of my favorite comic book characters, and I heard that this movie has definitely done him justice. DAMN YOU SCHUMACHER!!!!!

Pistons won game 3 yesterday....great game...played amazing...especially Big Ben who has been MIA in the previous 4 games. Good to have him back. (He got me into using armbands now). My prediction before yesterdays game is that they are going to win 4 straight. I really see us Winning another championship in Game 6.

Work has been alright. Coming up to the end of our fiscal year. Budget is done. But have some work to do on the capital expenses. But It shouldn't be too bad.

Played a great game against a really tough Miami team.
Sheed stepped it up at the end.

Chauncey hit the free throws he needed to. Rip was just all world.

Spurs on Thursday for the Championship. Will be an awesome matchup...both teams are so even it's not even funny.

Ok guys...the few that actually check this site out.

Now, what would you do had your spouse had a credit card you knew nothing about. Getting it sent to their father's place. and the only way you found out is through a credit check....and you're already having alot of communication issues and arguments.

What should happen here? especially if divorce isn't an option. are there any methods you guys suggest?

and if you're wondering....it's definitely not me and sheila.

WHEW...WHAT A WEEKEND!

Ok, it's been a little more than a year since sheila has moved into our house.

So what did we do this weekend. Finally cleaned out and organized the garage. After 6 hours...we worked our plan to perfection, and now our garage is super clean. We can park a car in there for sure.

Next week, we're going to work on our lawn and garden.

I'll admit though...I'm tired of all of the dandelions growing on my lawn. applied another weed killer to take care of them. We'll see if they're gone tomorrow.
Yeah...i love my lawn.

played ball today. been playing consistently at least once a week, sometimes twice. been working on my shot and driving to the hoop more. at the same time, regaining my 1,000 fakes in the post.

Star wars comes out in 4 days. so far the reviews have been really favorable. bought my darth vader force fx lightsaber a couple of weeks ago, and have been playing with it alot. coolest toy for a star wars fan. get it if you can.

booked our trip to vegas this august. should be a nice couple of days. really looking forward to it. planning to get more fit and add more muscle by then. we'll see.

Amazing how fast time flies when you're enjoying life.

Still can't believe that we've been married for a year, let alone been together for 10 years.
More than a 3rd of my life has been spent with you. I can't imagine anybody else worth spending the rest of my life with.

Nobody has influenced me, guided me, and supported me as much as you have through these years. Good times, bad times, thick and thin. It's cliche but true. You have been the constant of my life.

I love you more and more every day.

1 year already

Tomorrow marks our 1 year anniversary and our 10th year together.

A year went by so fast. Sheils has been real busy with school and basketball and work.

Really admire her drive and dedication. That and I think it's cool that we finally get to play ball against each other.

But all I really need to say is that this past year being married has made me realize how great life can be. When every day gets better than the last all because you're with the person you're meant to be with. When words can't describe how you're truly feeling. when you feel that no matter how many times you say "I LOVE YOU" you feel that it's only a fraction of your overall feeling.

I know alot of you married couples feel the same way.

Also been the last time we've seen alot of our friends. Just wanted to say thanks again, for being our friends. Never have to worry about anything because we know that we have all of the support from our friends and family.

WELL. HAPPY ALMOST 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY BABE!!!!!
